"To be an artist, one must . . . never shirk from the truth as he understands it, never withdraw from life" Diego Rivera

Every child deserves the right to live, for proper education, safety and support from the family, society and even from our Government before and even after this recent election. Children (and every girl child )are the leaders of tomorrow. The girl child is the mother of us ALL and they deserve equal rights, protection, love and education too.

I am still much directing my thoughts and concerns with this pastel art piece again over the plight of the long abducted Chibok school girls. It’s very glaring that these girls are still unaccountable for even as at the time of this Nigeria 2015 election. What else could be of more importance than the freedom and safety of these young innocent souls of over 200 girls? This is yet another reminder that we as a nation should not relent our efforts, concerns and search for these missing girls. Every life matters and I still feel the dilemma of these children and their families. What good is a nation if it can’t protect its young ones, future mothers and leaders?

As we take our time to seek for another era of leadership in these elections, let us not forget these girls through our concerns, care and prayers too. No one wishes or prays to be victim of any insurgency and we just can’t sit by and pretend continuously that these thoughts and girls are unimportant anymore. Let us keep praying, asking and keep searching out them and for a better way in preserving the future of our girls and children.
